What It Is & Its Purpose

A base jack is a screw jack inserted at the base of scaffold standards to adjust vertical alignment and stabilize the scaffold on uneven ground. It’s essential for ensuring the structure is level and secure before loading

• Tube Size: Hollow steel tube, 38 mm outer diameter × 4 mm wall thickness

• Length: 610 mm overall (“R/O” indicates rough order sizing; actual measured length approx. 610 mm)

• Threaded Screw & Nut: Integrated steel threaded rod and cast or forged nut for height adjustment

• Base Plate: Welded 150 × 150 × 5 mm steel plate, sometimes heavy-duty plate of 6 mm

• Height Adjustment: Rotate the threaded nut to raise or lower the standard, compensating for uneven surfaces

• Hollow Design: Reduces weight while maintaining structural strength; easier to handle than solid jacks

• Thread Pitch: Typically, square-threaded with around 6.35 mm pitch (4 threads/inch) or round-thread 8 mm pitch
